Preparing for a payroll tax audit - OK. For all your best efforts, you have still been “selected.” Now is the time to BE REALLY CAREFUL. Learn how to negotiate both the time and expense involved in an audit. Learn how to prepare employees, and yourself, for interviews. What you say and how you say it matters. The records you provide can lead to so many other audits if you are not careful.

Dealing with assessments, penalties and interest. So the audit is over, or maybe just a simple mistake like late depositing or filing meant penalty and interest. Don’t take it lying down, once assessed, you have nothing to lose, so ask for waiver! Learn how to effectively do this, and when it is a lost cause. In audit situations, learn how to minimize consequences.
