Alfred Lewis

Founder and President, Disease Management Purchasing Consortium International, Inc.

Alfred Lewis widely credited with inventing disease management, was named the "leading care management outcomes analyst in the country" by the 9th Annual Report on the Disease Management and Wellness Industries. He was also the founder and first president of the Care Continuum Alliance, the wellness/DM industry association.

He is also the author of the critically acclaimed trade bestseller Why Nobody-Believes the Numbers: Distinguishing Fact from Fiction in Population Health Management , a highly entertaining but also authoritative guidebook to measuring outcomes and ROIs.

His new show on health and domestic policy, The Big Fix , will premiere on the NPR affiliate in DC, WAMU December 15.
Currently a Visiting Scholar at Brandeis, he previously taught economics at Harvard, from which he holds undergraduate and law degrees.
